All Over the Shop

All Over the Shop is a random talk fest that is broadcast on Melbourne’s 3 Triple R radio station. It is hosted by two crazy men named Leaping Larry L and Stew Farrell (AKA Fat & Knackered-not sure which is which though). It airs Thursdays from 2pm – 4pm. It began broadcasting in April 2007 and is going strong to this day. Amazingly the show has also done live to air broadcasts in front of an audience. Granted they didnt have to pay and were mainly drunk.

The topics often spoken of in the show are media stuff, real life and anything in between, also includes bulk swearing, groin and toilet references.[1]

Hosts

Leaping Larry L- AKA - The Avuncular One. A crusty bitter old man who’s obsession with wrestling is well documented. He has a wide and varied taste in music – and some would say it is stuck back in 1979. Will often say the whole world is on drugs aside from him. Does have a non sexual man crush on Max Crawdaddy [2] Often the show is just used as a vehicle to plug his own ventures of movie and trivia[3] nights and his website. He formerly used to host shows on 3RRR such as Danger: Low Brow, The Love Dealers and It's Clobberin' time.

Stew Farrell- AKA- Big Man on Campus, The Stainless One, Steaming Stew, The King of Queens. He loves the Richmond Football Club to the point of obsession. Sadly he been known to stalk several players - in particular Matthew Richardson. His inability to say the word truncate is worth a listen alone. Could be a member of TISM. Also may be the undiscovered genius of cooking in Australia. Does refer to the show as "Having to be somewhere every Thursday", clearly showing his love for the art of radio [4] He buys HR utes when trashed also.

Regular Segments

On This Day, A Waft From Stew’s Kitchen, Same Old Same Old, Medium Underdone, Beyond The News, Farrell Up the Arts, Overated Alley. Along with TV, Movie and Gig reviews. Although often the movie reviews are not of current releases (see The Dark Knight incident).

The show also features regular text messages from listeners ranging in topics from compliments about the show (very rare) to people saying they don’t like to listen to the show (very common). Lately these messages have been ignored as Stew hasn't paid the phone bill. The listeners will often use dubious celebrity names as aliases, as they are generally afraid of being identified as a listener to this show.

One unnamed segment, but often spoken of: 'What is wrong with Melbourne's Public Transport system?'

Podcasts[5] are made available when Leapster gets off his lazy backside and edits them. Generally about 6 months after the show first aired going by the current wait time. Although as of lately, due to the employ of another person, the podcasts seem to be posted a lot quicker. Perhaps a 3 month wait time now.

Playlists from the show are updated on the All Over The Shop Page on the 3RRR website - but that happens less that podcasts being posted. The music played on the show is chosen by the hosts and is extremely varied in styles, examples of bands played are ODB, Queen, Slayer, Rolling Stones and The Ramones just to name a few.

Interaction with listeners is often encouraged through the use of a Facebook Fan Page - although judging by most of the posts the people are not actually fans and just enjoy giving the guys a hard time. Which they often deserve.

Recently the show has decided to get into the merchandising business and sell supposedly limited edition T-Shirts. The only limit it seems if you are small you dont get one as the hosts think the rest of the world is fat like them.
